Not every fitness goal is to lose weight! Gaining strength, as this gorgeous lady did, is just as AMAZING 💪💕 . I’m not usually a paragraph caption type of girl, but I stumbled upon the picture on the left and felt like I should share because it’s so near and dear to my heart. The picture on the left was taken two years ago this month, and the picture on the right was taken a few weeks ago. You can see obvious physical differences, but what you can’t see is the mental differences. Two years ago, I was seriously unhappy. I would look in the mirror and think I looked fat. I wouldn’t go out to eat with my friends or family and I’d sit at home and cry because I felt like I couldn’t eat anything. It was the lowest point for me, but I wanted to be a model so bad. I wanted to be glamorized for being so thin even though I was miserable. In the picture on the right, I have gained around 30-35 pounds (I don’t exactly how much. I don’t weigh myself anymore. ) AND I am a much happier human being mentally. Just wanted to share because the girl on the right looks in the mirror and thinks she looks thin! I remember that day, being so large and feeling so miserable. That photo was taken right after high school graduation. A few friends and I went back to visit an old teacher and we took that picture with her. I looked at it and I felt so embarrassed. I was ashamed of my body. I look back at it now and wish I could have told myself that everything was going to be okay. I wish I could have told myself that I WOULD overcome the body I was in, that I would chase every little dream in the back of my mind. That I would make these dreams a reality, and by doing so, inspire many others along the way. No, I don’t wish away my old body, because I am thankful for the tools it has given me. Being confident in ourselves and in our own body and loving you who are does not require you to look a certain way or have a certain body type. Trust me I know, self love is not always easy! But is something that we should all work on every single day! 💕 Self love comes from loving who you are. No matter what. Even if you are working on losing weight, living a healthier lifestyle or just being a stronger or more “fit” you, you deserve to love yourself. Self love needs to happen right now- because no matter where you are, you are so deserving of your own love! 💕 My friend Sarah @sassyredlipstick and I both spread #bodypositivity and #selflove no matter how different our body's are. Years ago neither one of us ever thought that we would have posted pictures of ourselves in our bathing suits for thousands of people to see. So we can all love our own bodies and never let what others say about us stop us from living our life. Our bodies are very different, but yet, our differences are what make us BOTH beautiful. 3 months of working my ass off, eating in a major surplus, lifting heavier than ever, being quite uncomfortable, and never taking my eye off my goal 😼 - For so long I was working to disappear. Small was never small enough. Let me tell you all something, the best version of yourself DOES NOT mean the smallest version of yourself. Looking back, it breaks my heart that I couldn’t see the strength I had within me 🙇🏼‍♀️ - 12 weeks. 10 pounds. And a small flame that has turned into a wildfire. I am physically healthier and stronger than ever. I am mentally forever growing. I have big goals set that I promise I will make a reality. And I don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon 😈 . the fact that I’m even wearing a bathing suit at the beach, let alone having my picture taken in one really speaks to how far I’ve come in terms of mentality and self confidence as a result of getting healthier. I couldn’t be more proud!! — last summer (when the pic on the left was taken ) I had already lost about 40lbs and was feeling great. however, I still wasn’t comfortable enough with myself to really put it all out there. the mental aspect of a fitness journey is something that’s often overlooked, but in my case it’s been one of the changes in most proud of. — it’s easy to get wrapped up in comparisons and negativity but, remember that those thoughts don’t serve you any purpose. they tear down your confidence and make you feel less than, which isn’t the case! I, like many of us, have come so far from the people we used to be and that’s something to be celebrated! — so here’s to a week of crushing our goals and a summer of stepping out of our comfort zones 💪🏼💛 . lbs lost! Stepping outside of my comfort zone this past week and started out showing a little mid drift. Than the next day I wore a skirt with no leggings. Saturday I showed both! I’m going to be in this skin awhile, so I have to get used to it 😊and I know everyone is thinking, where’s your skin or did you have skin removal and I didn’t and TRUST me you don’t lose 230lbs and not have loose skin lol that’s not how it works unfortunately 😂 But I’m excited for all the new clothes I’ll be able to rock the next couple months 😍 All credits to respective owners // @autumnxnoir

📷: @kassimansfield 16 weeks between these photos. And sure I could talk about the physical change, but honestly I’m most proud of my mental change. I appreciate my body more now than I ever have before. The human body, especially the female body, is so beautifully insane and remarkable. I have stretched more than I ever thought I could (if you’re new here, scroll back ). And I have seen my body literally change more and more by the days. This body made me a mom to my beautiful boy and I couldn’t be more proud of it 🤗 . I get asked all the time what I’ve been doing to get my results so I wanted to share! • 80/20 diet. I eat clean and fuel my body with lean meats, complex carbs, greens, and nutritious foods 80% of the time. And the other 20% is to fuel my cravings and what I enjoy. Cough cough margaritas 🤤. This is best for my mindset and to me that’s the most important • Not going 0-100 right away. I knew if I went 100% off the bat that I would mentally be drained and I would give up quick. I started slow with walks. Then added in #20minstrong a few days a week. And then started incorporating weight training. This has helped my progress and motivation stay strong! • Enjoyjng goodies in moderation. I want cookies? I have 1 or 2, not a whole box. I want a drink? I have one instead of 3. Pizza? I’ll eat until I’m content instead of over stuffing. You don’t have to give up what makes you happy. Just enjoy in moderation : ) • NOT LOOKING AT THE SCALE! I’ve been at 129lbs for 7 weeks now. But hell I sure did not look like this 7 weeks ago 😅. The scale will ruin you! Go off of how you feel, how your clothes fit, and measurements if you want to be exact. Side to side muscle is heavier than fat. • & last, keep pushing! Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see progress immediately. And stop comparing. Everyone’s body is different. Take photos, take care of yourself, and trust the progress ❤️❤️❤️

📷: @jordaan_spark_ What if I had quit? Gave up? Let my fear of loose skin get in the way of my goals? Let people have ugly stuff to say, make me throw in the towel? Then I wouldn't be where I am at now. Starting weight was over 310lbs and current weight is 149lbs. Do I have loose skin? Yes. But guess what?! It's so much better than dealing with hundreds of pounds of fat on my body, is easier to hide. Is it pretty? Nope. Do I care? NOPE. It's like a trophy that I get to see every day as a reminder of how far I have come. I don't like it sometimes; but for the most part. It's just an everyday for me. Weight loss, for me, has a lot to do with your mind, and once you can push past the negative, you'll see all things positive. ❤️☺️

Remember life isn't a filter 🙅🏼 In real life we all have flaws, insecurities and doubts. I think many people realize now that social media isn't real in every way, a lot is staged photos with good lightning and taken with our best angles🤳🏼 I really don't see anything wrong with that, because all these "perfect" photos motivate me doing better. 📷+✒️ :  @myadventuretofit ✨ The body achieves what the mind believes ✨ 65 pound difference between these two photos. I was already a couple months into my journey in the photo on the left. I slowed down on my progress many times, but I NEVER gave up. In a few days, I will have been on this journey for 2 years ❤️ Seems like a long time, but I’ve only “dieted” a few months out of all of that. This entire time has been a lifestyle change.
