Breakfast today. I used up the eggs for my family, #momlife I usually don't eat breakfast but I've been finding myself to be more hungry. I've heard this could be from eating more carbs. • I've been able to stay at under 20 net carbs the past two days and haven't really got on the scale because I sunburn myself so badly and I'm retaining water. My left leg is swollen.😬 • I am on day 4 of the sunburn so I'm hoping that it will start being less tight and swollen. I am starting to get blisters so I don't know if that's a good thing or not? My view on Keto for weight loss… ⠀ For most people (99% ), I do NOT recommend it. ⠀ Sure, it can work, but it has nothing to do with “insulin” or “ketones” or “evil sugar fairies” or anything like that... ⠀ If someone loses weight following a Keto diet, it’s because they are eating in a calorie deficit. ⠀ Plain and simple. ⠀ And the calorie deficit truth is the same for any diet... ⠀ With Weight Watchers, it’s points. With Whole30, it’s eliminating processed foods. ⠀ I don’t recommend Keto for most people because it’s way more restricting than what’s necessary. ⠀ I don’t know about you, but a world without carbs is not a world I wanna live in... ⠀ No more bread 🍞? 😢 No more pasta 🍝? 🤧 No more p.. p.. pizza 🍕? 😭 ⠀ Sure, maybe you could follow a keto diet for a few weeks. ⠀ Hell, maybe a few months. ⠀ But unless you’re ready to commit to never regularly eating carbs again (*cold chills* ), it’s just not something worth doing. ⠀ Luckily, when it comes to losing fat, it’s not necessary at all. You don’t have to cut carbs or carpet bomb sticks of butter into your morning cup ☕️... ⠀ I recommend the simple & flexible approach: ⠀ 1. Track your calories (to ensure a deficit ) 2. Eat a higher protein diet 3. Focus on whole foods 4. I do L🍍VE the fact the pineapple has become a symbol to bring the TTC community together - “Be Like a Pineapple Stand Tall Wear a Crown and Be Sweet on the Inside” and even though I truly believe Food is medicine & that the Pineapple core contains an enzyme called Bromelain, which can reduce inflammation in the body - I don't believe in the "Eat the Pineapple Core on day 5." #throwbackthursday to 16 year old me who had legs for days but also a very unhealthy relationship with food. I could put away a large pizza or a triple cheeseburger meal by myself. My excuse was always “I’m still active.” But slowly I got out of those high school sports, and stopped being active during my breaks at work and the weight started to pack on and yet I kept eating the way I have been for my entire life... eat until you can’t anymore, eat until it hurts. For as long as I can remember I have been a binge eater and I would reward myself with food because I “deserved” it. Whenever I was struggling, having a bad day, celebrating an accomplishment or even just bored I would eat and eat and eat. I went from 110 with bad eating habits to 265 with the same habits in a span of about 7 years. I have lost weight here and there but have never been able to keep it off because I felt like I was starving myself or that the limits I put on myself were just too much, I missed my favorite things. With keto it’s been so much different and I don’t obsess over the foods I can’t really have because there are so many options out there! I’ve lost 24 pounds since starting keto back in the middle of July and I can feel the difference in not only myself and my body but my life! I don’t know if I will ever be back to the shape or weight in the picture but I know I will have a much better relationship with food! #keto #ketodiet #ketolifestyle #goal #arizonaketo
