One of the easiest ways to spot whether someone joined this industry to genuinely help others or trying to make a quick buck by preying on desperate people can easily be determined by how much product pushing they do. The truth is, when it comes to getting into amazing shape, you don’t have spend any money at all. In fact, you can actually save money by eating less food and preparing more meals at home, but the diet industry won’t tell you that. Telling people to go for more walks and eat fewer calories isn’t something they can profit from, so instead they relentlessly repackaging calorie deficits over and over again by encouraging people to eat _____ but not _____. Oh, and buy this magical supplement while you’re at it. Don’t fall for these scams. If you want to lose weight, it’s as simple as eating fewer calories and moving more. Simple, yes. Easy? Not even a little bit. But you don’t have to make it harder on yourself by wasting your hard-earned money and time on gimmicky products that don’t work. That will only lead you down a path of hopelessness and frustration. Your money would be better spent investing in your education by taking a cooking class, hiring a personal trainer for a few weeks, or buying some new music to listen to on your runs. Happiness: what we all want yet struggle so hard to attain 🌼 my favorite topic during my undergrad education was cognitive dissonance, which in essence means that what I want, my thoughts, and my actions don’t match up. I wrote a whole research paper about how this applied personally to my life and ever since then, I’ve realized when cognitive dissonance equals into me not being really happy. When what we think, say, and do don’t match up we go into super stress mode, it’s like we’re pulling ourselves in many different directions and confusing our systems 🙃 but when they do match up, we’re in total harmony 🌻 and you’d think it sounds pretty simple to match up what we think, say, and do...but it’s not! This requires honesty, courage, vulnerability, and the ability to stand by what we want (which seems to be the hardest for most of us ). End of the month pinwheels. I like to try and make everything from scratch but some days that is just not possible or practical especially with a busy toddler running around. These pinwheels are made from store bought puff pastry, grated babymarrows, chopped spinach, left over ricotta and some mozzarella. Как я начала заниматься аюрведой и делать массажи? 🤔 Для меня природные секреты красоты и здоровья всегда были самой интересной темой для изучения. Я всегда увлекалась траволечением,так называемой «фитотерапией», прочитала огромное количество книг(не все они были на русском ).Мое стремление к правильному здоровому образу жизни привело меня к йоге и аюрведе. Больше 20-ти лет назад я открыла для себя йогу и «Art of living»,дальше последовали курсы в Искусстве Жизни, проживание в Ашраме,знакомство с новой стороной меня и осознанием важных жизненных приоритетов. Этот новый для себя путь и образ жизни я распространила на все: питание, мироощущение, cвою семью и окружение. Самое лучшее начало пути, когда ты хочешь изменить самого себя и сделать свою жизнь и жизнь своих близких лучше, с этого все и началось Аюрведа начала приходить в мою жизнь постепенно и наконец я решилась на то, чтобы помимо йоговских практик, изучить искусство аюрведического массажа и терапии Все началось с курса в Ашраме в Туапсе, где я открыла для себя техники самых важных видов массажа в аюрведе: марматерапия, широдхара, абхьянга, уричил, удвартана, Face марма. Я обучалась Аюрведе и техникам аюрведических массажей по программе международного семинара у бакалавра аюрведической медицины доктора Ниши Маникантан (Бангалор, Индия ), имею сертификат международного образца. Проходила практику в немецком Ашраме в Бад Антогасте(Германия ) Я уверена, что учиться всему никогда не поздно, это дало мне огромный опыт. Я проработала в известных Спа-салонах,фитнес-клубах,йога клубах Москвы и области Хочется пробуждать в людях ЭМОЦИИ,спящие, дремлющие,или ДАРИТЬ их,восстанавливая баланс физического и духовного. A common query and an area of the #fitspo #wellness community that I would like to challenge.⠀ ⠀ The short answer to the above question is a no. ⠀ ⠀ 👉 Body Positivity and Weight Loss:⠀ ⠀ I’ve done a couple of posts about body positivity and it’s origins (will link in my stories ) but here’s a quick refresher:⠀ ⠀ Body positivity is a social political movement created to challenge institutional discrimination against fat and marginalised body types. ⠀ ⠀ Where the #fitspo community has made it blurry is where the movement has been commandeered and twisted it into the “thin ideal” being presented at the forefront of the movement. ⠀ ⠀ The idea of wanting to diet and lose weight goes directly against the movement of creating a safer and fair society for marginalised bodies because it is still supporting the concept of pursuing a “thin ideal”.⠀ ⠀ 👉 Intuitive Eating and Dieting⠀ ⠀ If you are on a diet it is pretty impossible to truly adopt intuitive eating. Trying to lose body fat or having a goal of getting “shreds for summer” is probably not going to be in line with your bodies natural goals for itself:⠀ ⠀ At some point on a diet you are going to be required to deny yourself certain foods or be a bit hungry in order to consistently be in a calorie deficit to initiate fat loss. ⠀ ⠀ Again this goes completely against the concept of intuitive eating which is to honour your bodies physical or emotional hunger cues without guilt or judgement. ⠀ ⠀ Trying to do both is likely to be confusing for you and lead to limited success for your specific goal. ⠀ ⠀ I have a bias as you can probably guess as someone who’s come from an eating disorder background I’d love for the fitness community to move more towards of an intuitive eating approach with far less emphasis on aesthetics and never ending diets. ⠀ ⠀ Basically I’d like us to give two fingers up to diet culture and move on with our fucking lives 🤷‍♀️

It IS possible to achieve your health goals AND enjoy the weekend! 🤯😱 _ At first, some of my clients struggle to balance the lack of routine, social events, or just wanting to let loose after a long week at work. ⚖️ _ Instead of letting the weekends set them back OR trying to be overly restrictive, we work on real-life strategies to anticipate challenges and plan ahead. 📋 _ We consider trade offs and make sure that we are prioritizing what matters to them. 🍹🥗 _ Date night, girls night out, beers with boys...these are all part of healthy social relationships and a balanced life.🍷🍻❤️ _ We work together to create a plan that lets them enjoy these events AND progress towards their goals. 📈 _ Your health is not all or nothing. Health is about developing a solid foundation so that you can love your best life - whatever that looks like to YOU. 💃🏼🕺🏻 _ Check out these few quick tips on how to manage the weekend and if need more support, consider finding a coach to help you with accountability. ✔️ _ Planning ahead for the weekend is DEFINITELY one of my favorites. Making sure to have healthy food options already prepped is one of the TOP success strategies my clients use. _ If you already have the food ready, you’ll be way less likely to wing it and fall off completely from your goals. 🥦🥑🍆🍅🥝 _ Trade offs are important to consider as well. What are you willing to give up? What are you not?? _ Be selective with your treats! If you’re planning a fun night out, GREAT - enjoy it! Trauma is extremely complex and affects each and every person in a very unique and different way. As time passes and you find yourself coming up on “trauma anniversaries”, it is so very important to exercise self-compassion. You may find yourself saying that you don’t feel fully “healed”, or that you don’t feel like you are “past” it, or that you don’t feel like it’s been fully processed, and all of these thoughts are OKAY!! It’s okay that it may still cause you pain, hurt, anger, shame and a whole range of other emotions. It’s okay that it may still be having an impact on various facets of your current life. BUT what you need to remember is: *Healing takes TIME. *Even the smallest of steps in the right direction are still steps forward. *Progress may not always be easy to see and acknowledge *You are strong. *You are capable. *You are worthy of healing. *You are resilient. *Things will get better.
