There's a 20-lbs difference on the scale. HOWEVER, there is a 16% drop in body fat (roughly 35lbs of fat lost ), And an 18% muscle mass increase (20lbs gained ) The difference is pretty obvious, so don't focus too much on the scale, it only tells part of the story. The hip thrust, pioneered by @bretcontreras1 , can be performed a number of ways. My go to variation when teaching the hip thrust is up on a medium or 12” box. The main reason being, is that this seems to give clients with poor(er ) proprioception a better grasp as to what should be going on when they do this movement. - That being: thoracic extension, hip extension, and knee external rotation (round shoulders, hips high, and knees out in normal people terms ). - A few cues I give clients struggling to execute the hip thrust are: 1. Start with your knees bent to 90 degrees while your bum is on the floor. 2. Keep your hands on opposing shoulders and tuck your chin to your chest. 3. Squeeze your bum and push your hips as high as you can, your head should stay tucked and your shoulders should roll back onto the box. 4. Push your knees into the outside of your shoes. 5. Allow your torso to “dip” or “sink” back towards the floor, not just your bum. - This combined with squats, deadlifts, lunges and RDL’s should have that bum looking peachy in not time! Further to that you will be doing your joints a favour by creating a solid foundation of movement. I hope this helps! 🍑

First actual time hitting a 1 rep max on squat. 545lbs x 1 weighing 184lbs first thing this morning.
