your struggles, your story, your journey is YOURS. those people telling you to “just think happy thoughts”, despite having good intentions, know nothing about you and/or what you’re going through. it makes it all seem so trivial, so insignificant, so ‘not that bad’. but it can be bad. it can be hard. take care of yourself on your own terms, because you know you and your mind more than anyone else, even though sometimes it feels like you have absolutely no idea what’s going on up there at all. and if you don’t feel you can do that alone, that’s okay!!!! it’s so incredibly important to remember that you’re not alone, which is cliche but so so true. there’s always someone there, whether you know it or not. you’ve got this. i’m not one to actively speak about my own problems on here, but i always want to remind those around me how much it means to me and others when these feelings aren’t brushed aside or belittled or seen as something temporary that will be gone the next time i see you. being constantly anxious and low, flare ups making it seem even worse - it’s continuous, ever-changing, and so frustrating. it’s not all of me, but it’s part of me. and as we say every single year, the discussion surrounding mental health needs to expand and become something we don’t fear. i just hope one year this is the norm and we don’t have to keep wishing for change. #worldmentalhealthday
never let anyone tell you that you’re not important or make you feel like whatever you’re going through is irrelevant or insignificant. you matter. #worldmentalhealthday
was incredibly lucky to attend Harry Styles' first ever full solo show last night, pretty sure there was only about 300 people there😩 i'm even more excited for his concert in October now💃🏻 .. highly recommend listening to his self-titled album, which is where this song, kiwi, is from (even if you're not a fan ) .. thanks for a great night @harrystyles !!! 🥝🎸 (for the shower at the end of this video too🙄 )
gonna be one of those people and have the same thing posted here as on my story🤷🏻♀️ ( @victoriaheff )
heartbreaking. someone who has no background or interest in politics and stands for nothing but himself and his own wealth and power has just been elected president of the states. i'd say "united states" but with what's just happened it's pretty evident that the USA is anything but united. black lives matter. love is love. women are strong. minorities matter. absolutely speechless. this picture says it all, really.
a person's mental health is just as important as a problem you can see in front of you. it's hard to understand and it's hard to explain. but these problems do exist, and the stigma surrounding them needs to be broken. to anyone who has experienced or is experiencing any problems, you are not defined by your mental health. and these problems are not a sign of weakness. talk to someone, find something you enjoy to help keep your mind occupied, surround yourself with loving and caring people, and always, always remember: "the strongest people are not those who show strength in front of us, but those who win battles we know nothing about." . #worldmentalhealthday (i'd apologise for rambling but this is important to me and many others. we need to talk more about this topic and stop being ashamed of any problems we have just because of how society views those with mental health issues. )
