I was told of an interesting story behind this famous willow tree. The story began in the early 1900s, where a branch from a nearby willow tree is broken and planted at this very spot to be a fence post. Judging from the timeline, the tree is estimated to be around 80 to 100 years old. A custodian of local history, 85-year-old Wanaka artist and writer Gwenda Rowlands, remembers the fence line from nearly 70 years ago when she first visited it in a dinghy with her father and brother. “It was 1939, and I remember it growing there – and that’s not yesterday,” she is reported as saying. “So it has been growing slowly all that time… it shows anything that is alive has a determination to live.” This lonely tree has now become one of the most photograph place in new zealand due to it's unique branching and breathtaking mountainous backdrop. Ps. This is a time blended artwork taken 15 mins apart between shots. 1 photo having better illumination on the tree while the other having slight tinge of colours in the clouds.

Thats an awesome photo! How did you get to photography as a profession and do you ask someone for feedback before uploading or do you just decide by yourself? : )
