#teacher friends! The nice folks at Harper’s Spanish division are working at bringing the Spanish version of Echo’s Sister to America. They wonder if any teachers have developed curriculum for the book. Please let me know if you have or if you are aware of any! Gracias! #mglit #middlegrade
Another look at Sveta Dorosheva’s beautiful sketch that became the cover of Echo’s Sister. If you are ready to read it, the story is ready for you. “...breaks your heart a dozen times over, then patches it back up so that it’s somehow larger than when you started.” @sveta_illustrations #mglit #authorsofinstagram #author #cancersucks #harmonyheals #whatalife
The screen is dark, journal shut as I wait for Harper to give me the last pass pages on Summer and July, wait to hear from my agent on my revisions on Thirty Parks, and feel too hung up with waiting to work further on Carnival Girl. The muse never has me wait, so I should tap the screen, light it up and get to work on Carnival Girl.
This Friday! The amazing boutique Frances, which supported our family throughout Harmony’s cancer journey, is celebrating their 13th anniversary, and the festivities will include a raffle to benefit Trees For Harmony, our 501c3 dedicated to planting trees to beautify Phoenix and shade future generations of children! Come on out!
On the road in Flagstaff, at @brightsidebooksflag , Cali sees the book inspired by her friend, who also appears on the dedication page. Thanks Cali! Thanks Bright Side!
When I see this picture, I see my beautiful daughter at peace, cancer defeated, deflated, while her spirit and love live on. Her most amazing moments came just before this picture was taken, as she fearlessly faced the unknown, raising her eyebrows and squeezing our hands to tell us she understood the love we were pouring out to her. Thank you for sharing our love of Harmony, and walking beside us through her journey. ♥️🥑
People, stay hydrated while reading @DanGemeinhart ‘s latest. This welcome table on wheels serves up quite a spread of feeling. Coyote and Rodeo will stay with me forever. Thanks, Dan
Oh, my beautiful Harmony, hidden beneath the mask of cancer, which came so quickly when it came for the last time. This is the last photo of our whole little family, Oreo included, before she passed on May 2. She still had some beauty to give and take, and her most breathtakingly brave moments were her last breaths of this world’s air. I love you, Rebel Girl, and I’d say I miss you, but I know you are here. ♥️🥑
