San Francisco, California is a very exciting and eclectic city. Here are a few interesting facts about the city that you might not have known. Did you know the official color of the Golden Gate Bridge is “International Orange”? The cable cars are the only National Historic Landmark that can move. It seems to be a tie as to the crookedest street in San Francisco, depending on who you talk to it is either Lombard Street or Vermont Street. The model for the bear on the California state flag actually lived in Golden Gate Park. Named Monarch, the bear was captured and brought to a zoo in the park in 1889. #sanfrancisco #california #city #facts #history #color #goldengatebridge #cable #cars #landmark #lombard #vermont #crooked #bear #flag #park #picoftheday #photooftheday #instagood #instadaily #igers #travel #viewfromabove #birdseyeview #satellite #satelliteimagery #vantagepoint

The Inland Sea is an enormous pool of shallow, salty water that lies within a great expanse of sand dunes. It’s a strange environment made even more fascinating by its history as a pirate stronghold. Khawr al Udayd, as it is locally knows as, straddles the border between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Due to the low rainfall and high temperatures, the water is saltier than the nearby gulf. Pirates from Abu Dhabi used the body of water as refuge during the 1800’s. #inland #sea #pool #shallow #salt #salty #water #sand #dunes #environment #history #pirates #qatar #saudi #arabia #saudiarabia #rainfall #gulf #abudhabi #picoftheday #photooftheday #instagood #instadaily #igers #travel #viewfromabove #birdseyeview #satellite #satelliteimagery #vantagepoint
