✌🏽If I make look easy just trust that there are hours of tears, missed meals, misunderstandings and sleepless nights between my posts😴 Motherhood and entrepreneurship are equally exhausting and rewarding but remember to be kind to yourself throughout the process. I’m learning to channel my energy in ways I didn’t know my mind could and even during the days I don’t leave bed for more than 15 minutes I reflect on at least 5 positive things that have happened that day. ‘Basels laughter’ is always #1 😁 Be kind, be gentle and cut yourself some slack.
Imposter syndrome has been kicking my ass this month😰 Between the exhaustion of new motherhood and staying on track of my goals I’ve really been finding it hard to believe it ALL can be done. After admiring @lulahyers in-home studio I invested in my own with the hopes to create more content from the comfort of my living room, it’s been really hard to motivate myself.. my mind is loopy and as I write this I’m losing track of the purpose of sharing 😫😖 I’m really trying to find the balance but I know every will sort itself out in time. ❤️ #JustVenting

#mentalhealthawarenessmonth is every month for me. I want to say how proud I am of everyone who has shared their personal journey or is actively working to destigmatize mental health. In this space it’s so easy to feel alone and hopeless but I encourage anyone who’s struggling to reach out to at least one person you trust to lean on and seek advice. Mental Health Awareness Month is my favorite time of the year. I love reading stories of vulnerability, openness and how others use their platforms to create space and speak about something they’ve previously felt ashamed of. It’s not always easy or fun but I strive to be open about my high and lows and create spaces for marginalized groups to share their experiences too. Before pregnancy I rarely ever posted lingerie photos but was encouraged by my partner who constantly shares how beautiful this process has been for him to watch and be apart of. I’m round and proud and want to salute all of the moms and mother figures who nurture and teach. ❤️ @adoreme

Entrepreneurship has taught me so much about value. How do you put a price on your worth? How do you put a price tag on your presence? Navigating this space has taught me so much about the weight of time and effort. The top 3 things I’ve learned are; 1. Your price is your price: You would never walk into Chanel and haggle the cost of a bag right? Right. 2. If the work doesn’t inspire you, perhaps recommend a better fit for the job: I’m a huge advocate of putting other people on. Even if the $ is right, if it isn’t something you’re passionate about why take up space? 3. Speak with others about pricing: There’s no glassdoor.com for entrepreneurs. When you lowball your worth you mess up the💰 for others in your field. Speak with colleagues in your field to ensure you’re getting what your worth! I’m working and learning everyday. 3rd trimester has been an interesting time. My baby boy is super active, early afternoon naps have become mandatory and hair maintenance is challenging. I’m learning to ask for help to accomplish simple things like getting out of bed or putting on socks, which is a huge step for me. It’s February, the month for me when New Years resolutions become less of a concern and I become easily sidetracked because I have Netflix issues. Fierce is not being afraid to be the first one to do something for the first time. I remember working overnight shifts at Abercrombie admiring the beautiful faces featured on the walls. I will admit, I was a bit insecure about my appearance for the campaign shoot being 5 months pregnant with natural hair but I was told to ‘Come as you are’ and was welcomed with warm hugs. Pregnancy has been a whirlwind so far. I wish there were more ‘real’ guides for new moms. Here’s what I’ve learned so far The Real: 1. Morning sickness doesn’t just happen in the morning for most new moms. It’s incredibly excruciating, your stomach is sore and eating food feels like torture. Your hormones are through the roof in ways you can’t describe. For me I got sick at least 5x/day, for about 3 months 🤮 2. Rest has become my best friend. I’m in bed by 7:00pm on most nights 👵🏾 if your body is requesting sleep.. then sleep. 3. Your sex drive is almost non existent. I’ve read that a lot of new moms get queasy at the scent of their partners breath or cologne 😩 4. Protecting your energy is SO important now more than ever. Your baby can feel when you’re happy and sad so do your best to be kind and vocal about your needs & take time for yourself if necessary. ❤️ 22 weeks
