The downside to scuds. I can't believe they ate through a thick anubias like that one! Not to mention they destroyed all my moss and pearlweed. You definitely need something to keep them in check. Guess they had it made in here. Puffers being added hopefully in about a week depending on how meds go.

Still thinking about this tank that was at @aquashella_fest !
Pink belly 👀 #dariokajal (samurai soil for size reference )
One of the three surviving Dario Kajal after meds. Originally I had 8 and since they were wild caught I knew they were going to be a gamble. When I got them they were grey and they're supposed to be a rosey color and striped pattern. This one I believe is a male. There's at least one that I think looks like a female and the third one is still growing. I can only find one PDF online that's semi detailed about this species but they're essentially like a Dario Dario in my opinion. Maybe a little more territorial. So far they hunt gut-loaded bladder snails and scuds. Frozen brine shrimp are also a favorite.
We be cryptin' 😎 #cryptpetchii
Found these neocaridina shrimp at a big box chain store and figured I'd try to see how well my water stood with these little guys. Surprisinly with no RO water they have thrived for about 2 months eating every bit of sinking wafer along with the amano and constantly feeding on biofilm. This one looks like it's gonna shed soon. Unfortunately I only got a batch of 3 females so I'm not able to test how well they would spawn. I've called the place where I got them and they haven't had them in stock every time I do. Hopefully I'm able to get a male soon to see if getting a mail-in order from someone reputable would be worth it (while continuing the use of my water and maybe alternative water sources other than an RO system ). Even using purified water jugs for a 20 gal would be manageable with a planted tank. What kind of water do you use for your shrimp?
