First they came for the Communists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me -Martin Niemöller #standwithkashmir
A light pleasant read. Very different from that of the series, although the plotline remains the same, I think the complexities portrayed are very different in the book and the series. Courtesy - @probably procrastinating
I've been waiting literally forever to lay my hands on the paperback of this gem. I remember reading this when I was eleven and being amazed by the writing and complexity of human character and language. It is safe to say that my love for the dead ( not necrophiliac ) in any sense has forever increased after this book. I will not attempt to describe anything, just powerful and bold. If I had to choose a favorite book, this would be it.
I do not remember the last time I read something so beautiful and intense that left me this restless. The words are surreal and as I walked through the dark alleys of Rome my imagination reeked of magic. Young love captured so beautifully that it stirs up emotions you never knew exist. Not a book that you can complete in a sitting, each read requires some pause time for it to soak in. I couldn't be more grateful to @arunavasinha for giving me this work of art.
