SO THIS HAPPENED. Thank you @horseandridermag and @nichole_leigh4 for writing such a thoughtful piece. I grew up reading Horse and Rider magazine, so this feels very surreal! • and a huge thank you to @hussreiners @hartlakelane and @julieabauwens for all of the behind the scenes help!
I still remember the first time I laid eyes on this horse. I thought to myself, “I hope one day I can sit on her, even if it’s just for a minute”. 3 years after that thought, this horse and I were featured on @instagram with over 11 million views... • Getting there wasn’t easy - in fact, I could barely walk during this shoot due to another horse kicking me the day prior - but there’s no denying that look of genuine happiness on my face. • Lately I’ve been debating whether or not my goals are worth pursuing. I’ve been discouraged and thrown off balance. As I look at this picture, not only am I reminded that anything is possible, but that it’s important to enjoy the journey along the way 🐎
Things I need to work on: 1. Holding multiple arrows in my right hand 2. My poker face 😅. • Since I’m not a natural lefty, speed nocking can sometimes be a challenge for me. • There’s an argument to be made for the blind nock, but I find that if you’re shooting with your non-dominant hand, you can use peripheral vision to see the target, without changing your head/body position, which minimizes the risk of mis-nocking. • Leave questions in comments, I’ll try to answer them all! 🙂🏹

The other day @krewellajahan sent me a beautiful message about Amazon women: • “Female warriors, archers, trained to ride horses at a young age, they were civil, and nurturing to their lovers. Moved in tribes. • They were the “ideal” women role models in classical Grecian times. Like what Heracles was for men. However, they were usually depicted in Classical Greek art as being destroyed by men, as if these “unruly , highly achieved” fem warriors were a conquest for man.” • New YouTube video is up (link in bio ) of my riding/art trip to Spain with Jahan!! 🇪🇸
“The Archer” was released by @taylorswift yesterday. So naturally, I had to make an edit with it 😅. Do you like the new song? 🏹
...the first time, I fell off 😬😂. • Last week was rough, but as much as I want to vent about it, I just keep reminding myself of the words of @cameronrhanes : “Nobody cares. Work harder!”🙌🏼. So I started the morning off with a nice long run to set a good tone for the week! • How are you starting off the week?
Finishing up a new YouTube video for tomorrow! [Link in bio to subscribe 💗 ]. I’m new to vlogging, so I need some feedback please 🙂👇🏼... • My goal is to post one video every Friday. I plan on discussing horseback archery, desensitizing, training, tricks, tips, and more. How does this sound to you? • If you have any other requests, please leave them in the comments! 🤓
Link in bio for my favorite Amazon Prime Day deals (and info on what APD is )! A heads up - I do get a small percentage of any sale, however, none are sponsored! They’re all products I have tried, loved, and would genuinely recommend. • And if you’d really like to be support the ponies and I, as long as you click the link, even if you don’t order any of my recommended items, I will still get a small percentage of any items on Amazon that you do order! • I really appreciate it! 💛
I heard someone say this over the weekend, and I can’t resist sharing it—Nothing good grows without manure. Sometimes you just have to push through the 💩 so that you can thrive. • Hilarious, but so true. Social media has a tendency of making everybody’s lives appear “perfect”. But that’s far from the truth. We all face rejection and heartbreak. The important part is that when things get tough, you just keep going. Push through the 💩.
Riding at the base of Mount Fuji! Sadly, the famous volcano was hiding behind the clouds while we visited. I guess that just means we’ll have to come back soon 😄. • After our trail ride and dressage lesson we visited a local restaurant and enjoyed a soup that’s broth was made using water directly from Mt. Fuji. It was phenomenal!
🖤 Trail days with Millie. • The full minute and a half edit is posted on my YouTube channel (link in bio ). • I’d so appreciate it if you would subscribe to my new YouTube channel (link in bio ). My goal is to grow that page so that I can continue making riding and archery videos for you guys! It would mean a lot, thank you! 🖤
